1 Introductions, apologies and substitutions
The Chair welcomed Members and the public to the meeting. There were no apologies.
2 Inquiry into Childhood Obesity - Evidence session 3
The Committee took evidence from the WLGA. They agreed to provide the following:
All Wales Obesity Pathway
Examples of integrated planning between local authorities, health partners and third sector organisations and if availble any evaluation framework.
Further evidence of educational and motivational programmes available for families.
Local government representation on partnership boards.
Child Measurement Programme
Processes in place to share information between Local Authorities and flying start areas including information on approaches to deal with individual cases.
Change4Life
Further information on the operation of its sister scheme Start 4 Life.
Appetite for Life
The percentage of school children in Wales who take up school meals.
How current resource implications on local authorities might affect current obesity programmes.
3 Inquiry into Childhood Obesity - Evidence session 4
The Committee took evidence from the Minister and the Chief Medical Officer. The Committee agreed to send the questions that were not asked for a written response.
